Candlelight Tin was started in 2005 by a local Artisan in Fall River, Massachusetts. Her inspiration for design came from seeing the No.10 tin cans (6x7) being dented and thrown away from the restaurants that she worked at. Their colorful labels and numerous dents caught her eye because of their unique and subtle, raw beauty. This spawned her inspiration for her craft.
She quickly began to design cans by removing the labels, cutting, pressing them slowly on a 20 ton press and lastly painting each one by hand. Despite the exact process, no two cans could ever be cut or pressed the same and that's one of the things, we think, that make it such a unique gift. Last but not least, she added votive candles and found that the light from the candles and the vibrant colors that were born from them, was a great combination and truly set the mood for any occasion.
She later revealed her idea to the public by showing friends and attending craft shows, the response has been fantastic. So much so that she's decided to go online and make them available to everyone, anywhere.
